The BitPay Wallet only supports tokens on Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Solana. Sending tokens to your BitPay Wallet EVM account address using an unsupported network/chain (Binance BNB, Avalanche, Cardano, etc.), the tokens won't appear in your wallet, even if the transaction was successful on the blockchain.
Recovering Unsupported Tokens
- Determine the network/chain the tokens were sent on
- Backup your BitPay Wallet seed or 12-recovery phrase from the BitPay app (see below)
- Select a wallet provider that supports the network your tokens are on. Consider options like MetaMask or Trust Wallet.
- Import your wallet's recovery phrase to the wallet provider that supports the network/chain to regain access to your tokens
If you experience issues using another wallet provider's software, please contact their support team for assistance.
Backing up your BitPay Wallet Recovery Phrase
- Open the BitPay app
- Select the Gear icon
- Select Wallets & Keys, then the key you want to back up
- Select Backup
- Write down your 12-word recovery phrase
Important Reminders
- Download wallets from the wallet provider's official website to avoid scams and malicious apps.
- Never share your seed or 12-word recovery phrase with another person.
- To move the tokens, you may need a small amount of the network's native token (like BNB for Binance Smart Chain) to cover transaction fees.
