BitPay ID: Best Practices for Uploading Documents

This article will cover tips for success when completing your BitPay ID verification.

Onfido assists BitPay with verifying customers' identities and documents using photos. BitPay ID verification consists of entering your identity information, uploading a supporting document, and taking a selfie.

Entering your Identity Information

• Add your name exactly as it appears on your document

Taking a Photo or Uploading a Photo of Your Identity Document

• Before uploading, please review supported documents in your region. Onfido Supported Documents
• Confirm your document is not expired.
• Lay your document on a flat surface and use a blank background for document photo.
• Use a camera to take a photo of your document. Confirm sufficient light is available (daylight recommended) and the entire document is visible. Avoid glare if possible.
• Do not take photos of document scans or document images on displays.

Taking a Selfie

• Great lighting is very important when taking a selfie.
• Align your face in the oval and then capture the photo.
• Do not take a photo of the picture on your document.

BitPay ID verification pending or error
