BitPay ID: Best Practices for Uploading Documents

BitPay uses Onfido, an Entrust company, for KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. 

Helpful Tips Completing BitPay ID Verification

Entering your Identity Information

• Add your name exactly as it appears on your document

Taking a Photo or Uploading a Photo of Your Identity Document

Check Eligibility and Expiration:

• Verify that your document is listed on the Supported Documents page for your country.
• Confirm your document has not expired.

Take a Quality Photo:

• Take a photo of the document with a blank background.
• Use a camera (avoiding document scans or photos of images on screens).
• Ensure the entire document is visible.
• Use sufficient lighting, with natural daylight recommended.
• Minimize any glare in the document photo.

Taking a Selfie

• Great lighting is very important when taking a selfie.
• Center your face within the on-screen oval before taking the photo.
• Do not take a photo of the picture on your document.

BitPay ID Verification Pending or Error
