How do I complete the BitPay ID process?

To verify your identity for BitPay ID, you will need to enter your personal information, upload a supporting document, and take a selfie. For helpful tips for completing BitPay ID, please see Best Practices for Uploading Documents.

Start BitPay ID Verification

Creating an account:

1. Add your name, email address, and create a strong password
2. Agree to the Shoppers Terms of Use and Privacy Policy by checking the box
3. Select Create Account
4. You will receive an email with the subject "Verify your Email Address"
5. Select the Complete Verification button in the email

A new browser tab will open, and you'll be automatically logged in

Once logged in to a newly created account or existing account:

1. In the top right, select your name/email and then Settings
2. Select GET VERIFIED
3. To start verification, select the Continue button
4. Review and accept our third-party service provider, Onfido, consent
5. Choose the document type and search for your country
6. Take a photo or upload a photo of your document
7. Take a selfie
8. Confirm your information

BitPay ID verification pending or error

If you encounter an error or your verification has been pending for more than 24 to 48 hours, please reach out to BitPay Support. You can contact us using the BitBot (bottom right) or by sending an email directly to support@bitpay.com.

BitPay is required by applicable laws and regulations to collect information about shoppers for any transaction using our platform.
