My cryptocurrency was sent to the wrong address. How do I get the payment returned?

If you've sent your cryptocurrency to BitPay or a BitPay Merchant, please contact BitPay Support using the BitBot in the bottom right blue circle. You'll need to provide the transaction ID/hash so the Support Team can investigate and refund if possible.

If you have sent your cryptocurrency to any address not associated with BitPay or a BitPay Merchant, there is nothing that we can do to recover the payment for you. A cryptocurrency transaction that has already been broadcast to the network is irreversible.

If you know the owner of the address, we suggest contacting the person or business and requesting a return of a mistaken payment.
