Payment Options for BitPay Invoices

• Payment Protocol (BIP-70) wallet: Wallets using this protocol, such as the BitPay Wallet, can automatically fill in invoice details by scanning the QR code, copying/pasting the payment URL, or selecting Pay in Wallet.
• Peer-to-Peer (P2P) wallet: Payment address and amount due are copied/pasted, then manually added to the payment wallet. Note: Submitting payments directly from cryptocurrency exchanges increases the risk of payment errors.
• WalletConnect: Pair your web3 wallet with WalletConnect and the invoice details will be automatically filled in.
• Coinbase accounts: Available to US citizens. Invoice details are automatically filled in.

Payment Protocol (BIP-70) wallet

BitPay suggests using a wallet that supports Payment Protocol. Payment Protocol ensures the cryptocurrency you send is exactly the right amount and includes a high enough fee to confirm your transaction. This helps reduce costly, time-consuming payment errors. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) wallet

For P2P wallet payments, both the invoice payment address and the amount due can be copied and pasted into the payment wallet. To avoid a payment error resulting in a refund, you must send the exact amount due within 15 minutes of generating the invoice.

WalletConnect

WalletConnect enables users to pair a web3 wallet by scanning a QR code to connect. To complete a BitPay Invoice payment, the shopper selects WalletConnect and approves the resulting transaction request sent to the paired payment wallet. Coinbase

Coinbase can be selected in the wallet selection on the invoice. This allows payments to be submitted to the invoice off-chain and without fees. This feature is limited to 10,000 USD total payments per day.
