The BitPay Wallet is a self-custody wallet and your cryptocurrency is secured by safely storing or writing down your 12-word recovery phrase. BitPay does not store your recovery phrase or have access to your funds.
Before deleting, please ensure you've either backed up your 12-word recovery phrase linked to your key or moved all wallet funds connected to your key.
NOTE: A wallet key can contain one or more wallets that share the same key. Deleting a wallet key will delete all the wallets within that key.
To delete a wallet key:
- Open the BitPay app
- Select the Gear icon
- Scroll down to Wallets & Keys and select the key you want to delete
- Scroll down and select Delete
Deleting a specific wallet within a key is not possible but a wallet can be hidden. Hiding the wallet means it will not be displayed with other wallets connected to your key.
To hide a wallet within a key:
- Open the BitPay app
- Select the Gear icon
- Scroll down to Wallets & Keys
- Select the wallet key which contains the wallet you want to hide
- Select the wallet
- Toggle the Hide Wallet switch
