The BitPay Wallet encrypted password adds extra security to your device, protecting your wallet and funds. The password is required when sending or signing a multi-signature transaction, or accessing the encrypted wallet 12-word recovery phrase.
BitPay does not manage your encrypted password for your wallet. It is created and stored only on your device. The encrypted wallet password can be cleared on your device using your 12-word recovery phrase associated with the wallet key. If you don’t have the 12-word recovery phrase, we suggest trying any passwords you may have set in the past.
