Settlement payments for BitPay merchants happen automatically, every business day. BitPay collects all payments processed since the previous business day’s settlement and deposits your balance according to your settlement preferences.

We maintain enterprise-level legal and compliance standards to protect merchants on our platform. Tiered processing limits apply based on verification level; these limits can be raised by providing additional verification information.

BitPay supports settlement in 15 cryptocurrencies and direct bank deposits in 37 countries. Cryptocurrency settlements are supported in over 200 countries.

Cryptocurrency Settlement

If you choose to take settlement in cryptocurrency, BitPay will process settlement daily to your specified wallet address. The settlement will appear in your wallet usually within one hour of being sent. 

BitPay supports the cost of any applicable miner fees when sending out crypto settlements. 

• ApeCoin (APE) The minimum settlement is 50 APE.
• Bitcoin (BTC) The minimum settlement is 0.01 BTC.
• Bitcoin Cash (BCH) The minimum settlement is 0.001 BCH.
• Dogecoin (DOGE) The minimum settlement is 1000 DOGE.
• Ether (ETH) The minimum settlement is 0.2 ETH.
• Litecoin (LTC) The minimum settlement is 0.001 LTC.
• Shiba Inu (SHIB) The minimum settlement is 10,000,000 SHIB.
• Ripple (XRP) The minimum settlement is 20 XRP.
• Circle USD Coin (USDC) The minimum settlement is 200 USDC.
• Tether (USDT) The minimum settlement is 200 USDT.
• Circle Euro Coin (EUROC)  The minimum settlement is 200 EUROC.
• Dai (DAI) The minimum settlement is 200 DAI.
• Gemini US Dollar (GUSD) The minimum settlement is 200 GUSD.

Local Currency Settlement

Australian Dollars (AUD)

The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 2500 AUD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Pounds Sterling (GBP)

The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 1,000 GBP. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Mexican Pesos (MXN)

The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 1500 MXN. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

New Zealand Dollar (NZD)

The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 2500 NZD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

US Dollars (USD)

Settlement in USD is available via ACH to banks in the USA. The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 20 USD. After a settlement payment is issued, funds will appear in your bank account after two business days.

South African Rand (ZAR)

The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 10,000 ZAR. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Canadian Dollars (CAD)

The minimum settlement is 5,000 CAD. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Swiss Franc (CHF)

The minimum settlement is 500 CHF. Settlement will appear in your bank account after two business days.

Euros (EUR)

After a settlement payment has been issued, funds will appear in your bank account after one business day. The minimum balance you must have to receive settlement is 100 EUR.

Cryptocurrency Split

Many merchants choose to take a percentage of their settlement in BTC, BCH, GUSD, PAX, or USDC. This can be done by taking a Cryptocurrency Split. You can choose to take any percentage – or all of it – in cryptocurrency (BTC, BCH, GUSD, PAX, or USDC). You can set up a Cryptocurrency Split in your Settlement settings. Settlement is paid daily to your wallet address on file.

BitPay offers settlement in multiple currencies. You can have settlement in only one fiat currency but up to five cryptocurrencies. For example, you may have 30% in USD, 50% in BTC settlement, and 20% in BCH. You may not have settlement set up for multiple fiat currencies at this time. For example, a merchant in the United Kingdom may only have EUR or GBP settlement, not both, though both currencies are settlement options for a merchant located in the UK.
