BitPay can directly refund your order if you have an underpaid invoice or if the invoice expired before the payment was made to the payment address. In most cases, we automatically send you an email to initiate the refund process.
If the invoice is overpaid, BitPay can refund only the overpaid amount unless the merchant authorizes a full refund.
If the invoice is fully paid, we require the merchant to initiate a refund.
