How do I submit a subpoena to BitPay?

For Law Enforcement Offices Only: Please ensure you send all information requests regarding criminal matters to subpoenas@bitpay.com.

Please note: this email address is not for civil litigants and only for law enforcement entities.  BitPay requires civil litigants to follow relevant rules of civil procedure for service of process and will not respond to such requests via this email address.

In order for us to effectively process the subpoena, please ensure the following five items are provided:

     1. Please put your Reference Number in the Subject line of the email so we can easily identify it

     2. Please narrow the search by providing either transaction hashes, receiving bitcoin addresses, invoice IDs or buyer email addresses as we cannot query our system for personal information including: name, address, and date of birth (DOB).

     3. If you are inquiring about bitcoin transactions, we need the Transaction Hashes and /or Wallet Addresses in text format in the email itself.  This avoids transposition errors and helps speed up our ability to respond (as we can't copy-paste from a scanned pdf)

     4. Please ensure you confirm how we may authenticate the request. (e.g. request call-back to law enforcement subpoena department);

     5. Please State a reasonable deadline (with understanding if something is a rush, we will expedite).
